My sisters birthdays

Both of my sisters recently celebrated their birthdays. They are very talented individuals.

Here is Celeste's beautiful photography of her seashell arrangement. She can meticulously arrange objects for hours and photograph the most mundane so it looks interesting.

 

This is Imogen's amazing watercolour that was painted for me. She has an wonderful eye for colour and a lovely free creative line in her works.

Brand new niece

I am exceptionally excited to have a beautiful brand new niece, Nora. She was born five days after my own birthday so we share a birth month and star sign!

Picked from my parents amazing garden. I gifted these arrangements to wish two people happy birthday a few weeks ago. The Japanese windflowers and begonias are my favourites.

One

My little nephew celebrated his first birthday on the weekend. It was huge. Sixty-six guests, mountains of food (including fairy bread) and a beautifully decorated cake with one candle.

Almost the weekend...

This weekend I will be having coffee with my Gran-in-law, visiting our cats, attending Tobias' christening and first birthday (wow, that year went so fast) and celebrating my sister Tess' lovely boyfriend's birthday.

 

I love this Wintery weather but I hope it stays sunny for all of the celebrations. It's going to be a packed weekend and lots of fun!

Under the sea

It was my husband's 30th birthday over the weekend and we had a fun and fabulous 'Under the Sea' themed party...

Samantha Robinson ceramics

For my birthday I serendipitously received several porcelain pieces by the talented Sydney based ceramicist Samantha Robinson. Three couples bought me vessels from her collection!  I love them all and as they are handmade each is unique.

The two vases (or illuminators if you place a candle in them) are similar in construction but have very different patterning.  One is Samantha Robinson's signature style, a detailed leaf design in charcoal that will work perfectly with fresh flowers.  The other vase is a limited edition piece that was commissioned by the Historic Houses Trust and is based on a fantastic 1930s French wallpaper design.

I was also given a beautiful tea set.  The teapot is red with dragons and a characterful Indian cow amongst spiral designs and two teacups, one blue the other green to compliment it.

These stunning creations will be ever treasured by me forever.

I turned 30 with two parties, four cakes and lots of food & fun with friends & family!

Tomato sauce

It seems a little decadent but I am having two parties to celebrate turning 30. One of them is a casual bbq with my large extended family on a Sunday afternoon.

I have sourced a few fun things to make it a bit different from an everyday bbq including these tomato tomato sauce bottles! So fun and novel, they will make a great centre piece for each table.

I also have these straws that I found on etsy coming from over the seas. I love the old fashioned feel of paper straws and the heart pattern is very sweet.

Wishing for...

My 30th birthday is fast approaching and I would love to receive something that I will keep forever - like these beautiful artworks.
