A beautiful but windy Anzac Day spent swimming, eating fish & chips and walking up to the lighthouse.

Art in Brisbane
I recently spent a weekend in Brisbane enjoying lots of art in the steamy city. Visiting several wonderful exhibitions at commercial galleries, Michael Muir's striking colour saturated abstracts and Lewis Miller's beautiful portraits and still lifes. Then it was off to GoMA to view the overwhelming and beautiful Matisse exhibition, the fabulous experiential Yayoi Kusama works and majestic landscapes of Eugene von Guerard.

Soggy Sydney
I'll be escaping soggy central Sydney for a girls weekend hosted by a wonderful friend in Avalon followed by a week in Kiama with my family. I do like to be beside the seaside...

Kiama break
My family has been holidaying with friends at Kiama for 10 years. On this annual break all the 'adults' inhabit the beach front cabins and the 'kids' (we are now all aged between 21 & 29) drop by whenever we get a chance.
Every morning and afternoon we go for a dip in the surf. The rest of the time is spent barbecuing on our little verandas, pottering around the shops in Berry and enjoying the beautiful boardwalk through Minnamurra Rainforest.
I am looking forward to heading down for the weekend. It will be lovely to be by the beach for a few days particularly because Sydney has been sooooo hot!
