Hong Kong

Today was the day we left on our adventure last year. It was such a wonderful experience for Ad & I. We had the most fabulous four months traveling and discovering new places and cultures together.

However we can't drop everything and do such a big trip again so I am going to relive our adventures by flicking through pics and thinking of what I would like to experience next time. Here I go...

Our first stop was Hong Kong.

The bustle of Hong Kong was magnetic; neon signs, rickety open trams, scrumptious food and markets were wonderful.

Next time
♥ Aim to have a little more room in my luggage to do a bit of shopping in SoHo.
♥ Wander through the squishy bric-a-brac shops where all sorts of treasures can be found.
♥ Sail Victoria Harbour on a Junk at dusk.
♥ Travel to The Peak on a day that isn't foggy to see the view.

Eight Hong Kong highlights

1. We were suprised to find a fresh food marekts in the alleys behind our hotel.
2. Double decker tram rides HKD$2 only AUD30c an absolute bargain and heaps of fun with so much to see from the top level.
3. Soho is full of cafes, bars and shops. Definitely the area to stay in next time we visit.
4. Cat St markets is a quaint flea market with a few exciting pieces.
5. Catching 'Celestial Star' one of the Star line ferries on a rainy afternoon to Kowloon while watching the skyline light up against the grey sky.
6. Munching on lobster pizza and admiring the view of Hong Kong Island from Aqua Bar.
7. Our foggy Peak experience.
8. Melt in your mouth steamed yellow fish dish at 369 Shanghai Restaurant.

We loved visiting vibrant Hong Kong and will be back again. It would be a great stopover as it is easy to get around and there is plenty to see.
