In the city

Catching up with friends for dinner or a drink after work is what I am enjoying about working back in the city. I also love the hustle and bustle of the busy streets and pockets of calm that can be found.

Rainy move

Please stop the rain! We have lots of moving to do over the next few days and the torrential rain that doesn't appear to be slowing may hamper our progress.

Southern Highlands adventure

Over the weekend I visted the beautiful Southern Highlands for a short break, one night in Berry and one night in Bowral. I managed to shop up a storm with bargains found at Haven and Space, Barbara's Storehouse and a little bric a brac market we stumbled across in a carpark. I also lusted after the exquisite scarves at Juniper Hearth, ate very yummy date scones at the Berry Tea Shop and explored the eclectic Three Wise Monkeys. The major purchases were made at Peppergreen which is unfortunately closing down but that does mean that there is 50% off of the the gorgeous antiques and curious collectables! What a wonderful weekend.

An estate in decline

Calke Abbey was one of the most amazing country homes I have ever visited. The slow decline of this grand family estate is played out in each room of this impressive crumbling residence. The collections that it contains are astounding and the disrepair of the buildings charming.

Cy Twombly

'It’s more like I’m having an experience than making a picture'
- Cy Twombly

  Untitled  2008

I have been lucky enough to view Cy Twombly's work in many galleries around the world. We are also very fortunate to have a piece by this extraordinary artist at the Art Gallery of NSW. Sadly Cy passed away today in Rome.

Change

Eeek I have accidently found myself a new job! My weekend was spent considering the offer and I have decided I have nothing to loose by trying something different. It is a wonderful oppportunity and I am looking forward to a challenge but I am very sad to leave my current role. Wish me luck with the big change!
